Aneri fuels her passion for computer science and engineering
Aneri is a second year masters student who enrolled in the University of Texas at Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering in August 2023 and is set to graduate with her Master’s in Computer Science and Engineering in May 2025. Britny was working for a tech company before a series of medical issues led to job loss. This setback began when she received a diagnosis that impacted her mental health and performance. Over the past two years, Britny has worked diligently to learn about her mental health to thrive in her next role.

Sarah creates a network of support as Austin newcomer giving back to women
Over the course of the last 12 months, Sarah has grown her network of women thanks to the organization and her involvement as a donor, volunteer, career coach, and Circle of Impact member. As someone who was looking for a job herself, Sarah has been able to fully utilize DFSA programs to empower her own career while empowering Central Texas women.
Latonya finds value in mentorship for social work career
Originally from Chicago, Latonya arrived in Austin about six months before discovering Dress for Success Austin. She found the organization through an internet search while looking for career resources. She was familiar with Dress for Success from her time in Chicago so when the name appeared in her search results, she took action and scheduled an appointment.
Shirdelle’s advocacy work inspires her role as a mother
Shirdelle was first introduced to DFSA through her work at SAFE Austin as their Community Engagement Coordinator. Her passion for advocacy largely stems from her own childhood experiences. She now utilizes those life skills to advocate for herself and others. She attended DFSA’s Community Connect, a monthly gathering where close partners gather together to exchange resources and better serve our community. It was there that inspired her to get more involved.
Juanita is making her dreams a reality from student to Mompreneur
Juanita discovered DFSA on a Campus Life announcement board at Huston-Tillotson University where she studies psychology. She immediately scheduled three appointments as she works on the initial stages of a business idea.
Sarita is making the most of her career gap with coaching and a new finance role on the horizon
Despite being laid off from a finance role in December, Sarita is taking this opportunity to use her decade-long experience to pursue a similar role, one tied to her passion for training in mortgage management.
Christina secures a job with help from her Path to Employment mentor
Christina recently completed our Path to Employment program where mentor Michael helped her find a role outside of the food and beverage industry. Over the six-week program, Christina worked closely with Michael and gained the confidence to secure a role she envisioned for herself.
Brenda starts a new career following Path to Employment mentorship
Over the summer, Brenda joined our Path to Employment program where she was matched with a mentor and ended up securing a role as a cashier using previous customer service skills.
