Vandana shares thoughts for Global Recycling Day

Looking back on the past three years with both Schneider Electric and Dress for Success Austin, I have immense gratitude for the progress that these organizations have achieved related to sustainability and efficiency.

For the second time, Schneider Electric has been named The World’s Most Sustainable Corporation by Corporate Knights. As the only company to rank first in the Global 100 twice, this prestigious recognition underlines Schneider’s long-standing commitment and comprehensive approach to delivering the most efficient performance possible. Additionally, I’m proud to share that Schneider ended 2024 with 40% of our top suppliersreducing their carbon emissions through The Zero Carbon Project, and in 2025 we will reach our goal of reducing emissions for our top suppliers by 50%.

In 2024, Dress for Success Austin saved 20 tons of CO2 and 193K barrels of water, as we served over 944 women through consignment and recycling programs. Our organization experienced substantial growth in the past year, not just in numbers, but also in resilience, vision, and impact. This year, we are committed to serving 25% more women by extending our services to additionalcommunities in Central Texas. By meeting women where they are in their career path, Dress for Success Austin is providing resources to help people at every level.

In honor of Global Recycling Day, I invite you to join us on this path to create a more sustainable future for all by finding ways to contribute to the betterment of your local community. Don’t be afraid to start small. The smallest of actions performed collectively can create a massive impact.
