Introducing our newest Board Members for 2025!

We are thrilled to announce our three newest DFSA Board Members for 2025: Stacey Winning of Dimensional Fund Advisors, Summer McAfee of Consuela and Ladene Nelson-Elliott who has been an active supporter of DFSA for nearly 11 years. Their expertise and dedication to our mission will be invaluable as we continue to grow!

Stacey Winning

Stacey brings over two decades of Human Resources experience in the financial services sector. She has held a number of roles focused on attracting, engaging and retaining top talent to help drive commercial success. She currently serves as the Global Co-Head of Human Resources at Dimensional Fund Advisors where she leads the team responsible for shaping and driving the firm’s organizational structure and employee experience. She is also Chair of Dimensional’s Executive Council for Diversity and Inclusion, spearheading efforts to broaden the talent pool and foster a diverse, inclusive work environment.

Stacey has been engaged with several chapters of Dress for Success throughout her career, most recently serving on the Board for Dress for Success Austin’s Circle of Impact. She brings energy and enthusiasm for the mission, which she sees as an organic intersection with her professional experience.

Summer McAfee

Summer is a natural bridge builder. She is passionate about connecting people and fostering meaningful relationships across Austin, which brings her joy. In the fall of 2023, she joined the Consuela team and proudly leads community programs as the Community Relations Manager.

Her professional journey spans 23 years at USAA, where she gained extensive experience across various departments, including property and casualty insurance, banking, innovation, and the Chief Design Office. As the daughter of a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served for 24 years, Summer has a deep-rooted commitment to advocating for military families.

Summer's journey with Dress for Success Austin began in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when she volunteered virtually as a career coach, offering guidance during her lunch breaks. She later served as a mentor in the Path to Employment program and was honored as DFSA's 2020 Volunteer of the Year. She has made a significant impact in her leadership roles, serving as the Circle of Impact Membership Chair in 2023 and Vice President in 2024.

On LinkedIn, 35,585 people follow the hashtag #womenempowerment. Joining the DFSA Board of Directors will allow me to contribute strategically at a local level and help make that hashtag a reality in our community. This meaningful opportunity fills my heart with joy, which is exactly why I agreed to serve on the Board.

Ladene Nelson-Elliott

Ladene Nelson-Elliott, a proud Austin native, is a licensed nurse pursuing a career in aesthetics and has been an active supporter of Dress for Success Austin for nearly 11 years. With deep roots in her community, she is honored to join the Board of Directors to further serve and empower women in need. Ladene represented Austin in the 2019 Regency International Mrs. Texas pageant, earning second runner-up and the Mrs. Congeniality award. A passionate volunteer, she dedicates her time to service in her community including: community service alongside other members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., volunteering with the Student Vocational Nursing Association at Austin Community College, and service with Girl Scouts of Central Texas, where she previously served as a volunteer coordinator. Through her efforts, Ladene strives to inspire the next generation of women to embrace the joy of serving others while making a positive impact in their communities.

Stacey, Summer and Ladene join DFSA’s 2025 Board of Directors alongside Andrea Nicholas (Board President), Paula Harmon (Board Vice President), Greta Gonzales (Board Treasurer), Trena Robinson (Board Secretary), Sarah Wasaff, Diane Ramos, Teresa Brinson, Teri Evans, Leanne Metcalfe, Dubravka Romano, Vandana Singh, and Dottie Watkins.
