Rhiannon supports women as a Path to Employment mentor

In July of 2022, Rhiannon started her first Path to Employment cohort as a volunteer mentor and was matched with her mentee, Ashley. The pair met each week for six weeks to work on a new aspect of workforce development that would help Ashley get on track to meet her professional goals.

“Ashley has big dreams, and we made it our top priority to have her confidence match it,” Rhiannon said. “Every week she would come to the meeting with more of an understanding of her abilities. I could see the growth!”

Rhiannon explained that one of her favorite projects with Ashley was developing a financial spreadsheet to track Ashley’s goals and help her reach them even more quickly. With Rhiannon’s support, Ashley was able to find a better job and more confidence in herself and her abilities.

Through the program, Rhiannon and Ashley connected on both a professional and personal level. “I loved spending time with Ashley and getting to know her on a personal level,” she said. “I'll never forget her bubbly personality.”

Rhiannon plans to return as a mentor very soon, noting that she values the way it helps women discover their confidence. When she made the career transition from the beauty industry to Human Resources, she recalls countless women who reached out to provide support.

“I love the idea of not only women supporting women, but people supporting people in general,” Rhiannon said. “I want to share the information I received from others with anyone who wants it.”
