The Neighborhood Centers Unit provides emergency rent, utility and food assistance to low- and moderate-income families in need. We are not currently accepting rent and utility appointments.

Salvation Army Austin
Provides trauma-informed care and focuses on obtaining safe and stable housing, income necessary to support housing, and personal stability for their clients. Case management, counseling, life skills training, licensed childcare, therapy, etc. are available.

University Presbyterian Church: UPLIFT
UPLift, or University Presbyterians Living in Faith Together, provides hospitality and assistance to those in need. We are open on Tuesdays from 9:30am to about 11 am in the Great Hall at UPC. We have a weekly drawing for free seven-day Capital Metro bus passes. We provide a hot meal. We also offer financial assistance for utilities, eye exams, eyeglasses, work boots for those with jobs, birth certificates and prescription co-pays.

Housing For Immigrants
The Adult House is an emergency homeless shelter that serves recently arrived men and women immigrants, asylum seekers, and asylees. Has 35 spaces for single men and women in need, and people generally stay for a few days to a few months. Posada Esperanza is a family shelter and a full-service transitional housing program for immigrant mothers and their children who are escaping domestic or cultural violence.
